Parsley

Native to the Mediterranean, Parsley is a versatile herb that works well in a wide variety of different cuisines and recipe types. Its fresh, herby flavor pairs well with most meats and fish, adding an aromatic flavor to pasta and rice dishes. Parsley’s popularity is not just attributed to its pleasant flavor but also its wide range of health benefits.

Packed with Vitamin C, Vitamin K, and beta carotene and rich in anti-oxidants - Parsley is beneficial for bone health, blood health,  good vision, boosting the immune system, and even helping to reduce the risk of certain cancers. Both the French variety (curly-leaf) and the Italian variety (flat-leaf) are popular among gardeners and are very similar in their flavor and health benefits.

How to Harvest Parsley

Harvest parsley by cutting the outer stalks around ground level - this will encourage the plant to continue growing and to be more productive throughout the season. Parsley can still be eaten if it has started to bolt, as the flavor will not change much and the flowers are also edible.
